Obama signs Lilly Ledbetter equal pay act - good?
Friday, January 30th, 2009 | Obama and the Dems | 2 Comments
Barack Obama signed a fair pay law yesterday. Republicans are against. This blogger’s pretty dubious about it. He starts talking about it about six minutes in.
He’s against the fiscal stimulus too.

Republicans are back
Friday, January 30th, 2009 | Republicans | No Comments
Interesting article on the Republican fight back, especially this bit:
“We just simply are doing nothing in the urban areas anymore,” Ann Dickinson, a committeewoman from Missouri, said in an interview. “We have recruited great African-American candidates, and we have helped them in every possible way, and their own community won’t vote for them. Even if they’re better, and they know they’re better, they’ll vote for a Democrat. They’ll vote for a Caucasian over their own person who knows their interests and needs, if they’re a Republican. Nobody knows how to change that.”
Is it true?

Had the camp never been built, they could have been charged with crimes, tried, and legitimately jailed if found guilty. But the manner of their incarceration without trial - even without bringing in allegations of torture - means the chances of a judge now finding they can be fairly tried are slim.

Along with the rest of the world, I listened closely to Barack Obama’s inaugural address, which moved me to discuss one key point of interest.
